# What the Best SaaS Landing Pages Do (20 Patterns)
Screenshot roundups age within months and never explain why anything works. So this is the pattern version, twenty things the strongest SaaS pages have in common, each one checkable against your own page right now.

Every roundup of great SaaS landing pages has the same problem: the pages get redesigned, and a screenshot never tells you why something worked. So here is the version that stays useful. Twenty patterns, each one testable against your own page in a minute.

## The first screen

**1. The first line names a problem, not a category.**“Your team’s decisions are scattered across four tools” beats “the modern platform for collaborative teams”.**2. The second line names the outcome.**What is different after using this. Not what the product contains.**3. There is a real product screenshot above the fold.**Abstract illustrations look safe and communicate nothing. Show the thing.**4. The signup path appears before any scrolling.**Someone already convinced should not have to hunt.**5. Social proof sits within the first screen or immediately after.**Logos, a number of users, or one strong quote. Trust decays the further down it appears.

## Explaining the product**6. Features are written as outcomes.**“Search across every document in under a second” rather than “full-text search engine”.**7. There are three to five feature blocks, not twelve.**Twelve reads as a changelog and gets skimmed to nothing.**8. Each block has a visual.**A cropped screenshot of the actual feature, not an icon.**9. Jargon is explained on first use.**Every product has internal vocabulary. Visitors do not have it.**10. There is a section addressing who it is not for.**Counter-intuitive and effective. It builds trust and filters out the signups that churn in week two.

## Pricing**11. Pricing is on the page.**Hiding it filters out qualified visitors far more effectively than it protects against competitors.**12. There are three tiers, not six.**More options reduce decisions. Three is the number that has survived every test.**13. One tier is marked as recommended.**People take the suggestion, and without one they compare all three and postpone.**14. Annual and monthly are both visible.**With the annual saving stated as a number rather than a percentage.**15. What each tier includes is stated in plain words.**“5 seats” beats “flexible team scaling”.

## Objections**16. The FAQ answers real objections, not marketing questions.**“What happens to my data if I cancel” is a real objection. “Why choose us” is not.**17. Setup effort is stated.**“Connected in about ten minutes” removes a genuine hesitation.**18. There is a way out.**Cancellation terms, export options, no-card trials. Saying it plainly increases signups because it lowers the perceived risk.

## The close**19. The signup path repeats at the end.**Someone who read everything is at their most convinced, and should not have to scroll back.**20. The final call to action is specific.** “Start free, no card required” outperforms “Get started”, because it answers the two questions in the reader’s head at exactly that moment.

## How to use this

Open your own page and go down the list. Most SaaS pages score twelve to fifteen. The gaps cluster in the same three places: the first line names a category instead of a problem, pricing is missing or hidden, and the FAQ answers questions nobody asked.

Fixing those three does more than a redesign.

## Frequently asked questions
Why patterns instead of a gallery of pages? Because the pages in any gallery will be redesigned within a year, and a screenshot never explains the reasoning. A pattern you can test against your own page stays useful.

Which pattern matters most? The first line. If it names the problem and the outcome in plain language, everything below has a chance. If it says something like "the modern platform for teams", nothing below can recover it.

How long should a SaaS landing page be? As long as it takes to answer the objections. Simple products need three screens, complex ones need ten. Cutting for the sake of brevity costs signups more often than length does.

Should we show the product or explain the benefit? Both, in that order of prominence. A real screenshot near the top outperforms an abstract illustration, and the benefit copy explains what you are looking at.
