Lindner Räder builds its millionth bike and opens the old rope factory to the public

Seventy-five years after the first repair in a garage, the Bremen bike maker turns its production hall into a workshop open to everyone on Saturdays.

Bremen, October 21, 2026. Lindner Räder today finished its one millionth bike in the former rope factory at the Bremen harbor. The cargo bike goes to a bakery in the city, the company’s first business customer in 2004 was also a bakery.

From November the production hall opens every Saturday from 10 am to 4 pm. Visitors can watch frames being built, repair their own bike with the company’s mechanics and buy spare parts for any Lindner bike since 1964.

We never wanted to build more bikes than people can keep. A million is a good number to say that out loud.
Hanna Lindner, Managing Director

The company employs 380 people in Bremen and Leipzig. It holds every part in stock for thirty years after a model is discontinued.
