This is a translation of our German privacy policy, provided for convenience. The German version is the legally binding one.

Email: hello@ai-website.com
2. General information
The following notes give you an overview of what happens to your personal data when you visit this website or buy through it. Personal data is any data by which you can be personally identified. This website is deliberately built to collect as little as possible. Audience measurement only takes place if you expressly agree to it, and no data is passed on to advertising networks.
3. Hosting and server log files
This website is hosted by IONOS SE, Elgendorfer Str. 57, 56410 Montabaur, Germany. When you open the website, IONOS automatically collects technically necessary data transmitted by your browser in what are known as server log files (for example IP address, date and time of access, page requested, browser type and operating system). This data serves to ensure trouble-free operation and the security of the systems and is deleted automatically after 14 days. It is not merged with other data sources. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in providing the website securely and stably). A data processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR has been concluded with IONOS.
4. Cookies and local storage
We set no cookies for the operation of the website itself. Your settings for the design mode (light or dark), the language and your cookie decision are stored exclusively in your browser (localStorage). This storage is strictly necessary for the functions you have asked for (Sec. 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG), and no personal data is transmitted to us or to third parties in the process. You can delete these entries at any time through your browser's website data settings.
Cookies are only set if you consent to audience measurement with Google Analytics (see section 5) or complete a purchase through Stripe (see section 6).
5. Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics (with consent only)
If you allow it through our cookie notice, we use Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics 4, services of Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. Google Tag Manager is an administration tool through which we include measurement services such as Google Analytics; it does not set analytics cookies itself, but for technical reasons your IP address is transmitted to Google when it loads. Google Analytics uses cookies and similar technologies to evaluate the use of the website (for example pages viewed, time spent, approximate origin, device used). The IP address is not stored by Google Analytics 4; it is only used for a rough location estimate and then discarded.
Without your consent neither Google Tag Manager nor Google Analytics is loaded, and no data is transmitted to Google. In addition we use Google Consent Mode: all consent signals are set to "denied" by default and are only released by your agreement in the cookie notice.
The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, Sec. 25(1) TDDDG). You can withdraw it at any time with effect for the future, most easily through the "Open cookie settings" button in section 4. Data may be transmitted to servers of Google LLC in the USA in the process; Google LLC is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. Data collected through Google Analytics is deleted automatically after 14 months. A data processing agreement is in place with Google. You can find details in Google's privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy.
6. Purchase and payment processing (Stripe)
When you buy an AI Website Template, the order and the payment run through Stripe. The provider is Stripe Payments Europe, Ltd., 1 Grand Canal Street Lower, Grand Canal Dock, Dublin, Ireland. During the payment process Stripe collects the data required for it directly from you (for example name, email address, billing address, payment details). Your full card or account details never reach us. We receive the order data from Stripe (template purchased, amount, payment status, email address) and process it to perform the contract, in particular to provide your download and to answer questions about your order.
The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (performance of a contract) and Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR for keeping accounting records under commercial and tax law (6, respectively 8 and 10 years). Stripe may also transfer data to Stripe, Inc. in the USA; Stripe is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and additionally uses standard contractual clauses. During the payment process Stripe sets its own cookies, which are necessary for fraud prevention and payment processing. You can find details in Stripe's privacy policy at stripe.com/privacy.
7. Fonts
All fonts are loaded locally from our own server (self-hosting). There is no connection to Google Fonts or other third-party font services, so no data is transmitted to third parties when the page loads.
8. Contact by email
If you contact us by email, we process the details you provide (email address, content of the message) in order to handle your enquiry and in case of follow-up questions. We do not pass this data on without your consent. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR where your enquiry relates to the initiation or performance of a contract, and otherwise Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in answering your enquiry). The data is deleted as soon as it is no longer required for that purpose and no statutory retention obligations conflict with deletion.
9. Waiting list and forms
If you join our waiting list or submit a form on this website (for example the creator enquiry), we process the data you provide (name and email address) and the time of your consent. We use this data exclusively for the purpose you asked for, in the case of the waiting list to notify you about the launch, and we do not pass it on to third parties for advertising purposes.
Your details are stored in our customer management system Odoo, operated by Odoo S.A., Chaussée de Namur 40, 1367 Grand-Rosière, Belgium. Confirmation and notification emails are also sent through this system. A data processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR is in place with Odoo, and the data is processed within the EU.
The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). You can withdraw it at any time with effect for the future; an informal email to hello@ai-website.com is enough. We delete your data as soon as you unsubscribe or the purpose ceases to apply, in the case of the waiting list at the latest six months after the launch.
10. Website DNA (AI-assisted analysis)
On the Website DNA page you can fill in a questionnaire about your company voluntarily. From it we generate a file that you download and also receive by email. We process your answers (industry, company name, target group, offerings, tone of voice, contact details) as well as your first name, last name and email address.
For the analysis we transmit your answers to Anthropic PBC, 548 Market St, PMB 90375, San Francisco, CA 94104, USA, which generates the text of the file from them. This means a transfer to the United States takes place. Anthropic processes the data as a processor on the basis of standard contractual clauses pursuant to Art. 46(2)(c) GDPR and, under the terms that apply there, does not use content transmitted through the programming interface to train models. Despite these safeguards we cannot rule out that US authorities demand access. Please therefore do not submit any details that you would not publish on your own website anyway.
The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you give by submitting the questionnaire, and Art. 49(1)(a) GDPR for the transfer to the USA. You can withdraw it at any time with effect for the future. We store your details in our customer management system Odoo so that we can send you the file and answer follow-up questions. We delete them on request, and at the latest when the purpose ceases to apply.
For technical reasons we keep a log of submitted questionnaires. It contains the time, the status and one non-reversible identifier each for your email address and your IP address. These identifiers are created by a one-way procedure with a secret key and serve exclusively to detect misuse and to limit costs; neither the address nor the IP can be recovered from them. The answers from the questionnaire are not part of this log.
11. Appointment booking
For the free introductory call about the AI Website Service we link to an appointment calendar from Google (Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland). Only when you click that link do you leave our website, and Google processes the data you enter there (name, email address, chosen appointment, optional message). Simply displaying the link on our page transmits no data to Google. The legal basis for the subsequent appointment management is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (initiation of a contractual relationship).
12. Emails after your purchase
After you buy a template we first send you the purchase email with your download and your invoice. Over the following thirty days you additionally receive up to five short emails that help you set up, go live and look after your website, and that also point to our other offerings.
The legal basis for the purchase email is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (performance of a contract), and for the further emails Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR in conjunction with Sec. 7(3) UWG (direct marketing to existing customers for our own similar products). You can object to these emails at any time, without any cost other than the transmission costs at base rates. The unsubscribe link at the end of every email is enough, or an informal message to hello@ai-website.com. Your unsubscription takes effect immediately and has no effect on your download or your warranty rights. The emails are sent through Odoo, see section 9.
13. External links
This website contains links to external websites (for example quik-services.de and LinkedIn). When you click these links you leave our website; the privacy terms of the respective provider then apply. Simply displaying the links on our page transmits no data to those providers.
14. Your rights
As a data subject you have the following rights:
- Access to the data stored about you (Art. 15 GDPR)
- Rectification of inaccurate data (Art. 16 GDPR)
- Erasure (Art. 17 GDPR) and restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR)
- Data portability (Art. 20 GDPR)
- Objection to processing (Art. 21 GDPR)
- Withdrawal of consent given, with effect for the future (Art. 7(3) GDPR)
- Complaint to a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR); the authority responsible for us is the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information of North Rhine-Westphalia
An informal email to hello@ai-website.com is enough to exercise your rights.
15. SSL and TLS encryption
For security reasons and to protect the transmission of confidential content, this site uses SSL or TLS encryption. You can recognise an encrypted connection by the browser address bar switching from "http://" to "https://" and by the padlock symbol in your browser bar. When encryption is active, the data you transmit to us cannot be read by third parties.
16. Changes to this privacy policy
We adapt this privacy policy as soon as the range of functions of the website changes, for example when new functions launch. The version published here is the one that applies.
