One command line from the empty folder to the upload. This page is the short reference, every option of every command is on the CLI page.

Install the CLI#
The CLI needs Node.js 22.12 or newer. Install it once globally with npm, after that aiw is ready everywhere. aiw doctor then shows which external programs are still missing, with the command to install them.

npx playwright install chromium
aiw doctoraiw and ai-website are the same command. aiw check and aiw research need Chromium.

Set up
Projects and components
- aiw newAstro with React islands, Tailwind and the kit tokens, ready for components. Shows the plan first with --dry-run.
- aiw componentsWithout a word it lists every category with its counts. With a category or a search word it shows each variant and its install line.
- aiw addFetches the component from the kit registry, resolves its dependencies and writes the files into your project. The code is yours from then on.
- aiw outdatedLists installed components with a newer version and what changed.
- aiw updateBrings components to the newest version and keeps files you changed.
- aiw registry buildTurns every component into an installable item, the source aiw add reads from. Run it after changing a component.
Design
- aiw themeEleven OKLCH steps per color, each with its contrast against white and black, written as Tailwind variables and tokens.
- aiw fonts addInstalls fonts locally and writes a matched fallback, so the text does not jump while loading.
- aiw fonts subsetKeeps only the characters your pages use and preloads them. Run it after every build.
- aiw researchScreenshots at three widths, the main text, the color palette in OKLCH and the type sizes, as material for your own design.

- aiw lintRuns the code checkers installed in the project in one go and reports each one.

Kit and server

These options come up again and again and mean the same everywhere.

| -C, --cwd | all | Runs the command in another working folder. |
| -h, --help | all | Shows the help of a command with every option. |
