Holm. For coffee bars that sell more than the coffee in the cup

Holm is the template for coffee bars with several houses, their own roasting and a small mail order side. Nineteen pages in dark fir green, with a quantity calculator for a bean subscription, a stamp card without an app, a city filter across eight locations and three long reads that arrive from search. Built for the business that has to explain three things at once: where to go, what there is and what you take home.

Eight houses, an online shop, a stamp card, and the guest still asks

A coffee bar with several locations sells three different things, and most websites explain only the first one. Where to go. What there is then sits on a menu without pictures, and what you take home hides behind a link called shop.

Holm turns the order around and makes it visible. The home page leads from the shop through the menu to mail order and on to the loyalty card, and each of those four steps has its own page with real content. The city filter is built from the data, the open-now state is calculated from the hours, and the menu shows pictures rather than a list.

The piece the selling hangs on is the quantity calculator. Anyone selling beans on subscription runs into the fact that nobody knows how much they get through. A slider for cups per day, three preparation methods, and out come the amount, the package and the subscription price next to the full price.

  1. 01

A stage that shows the product

The opening is not an image banner but a drawn glass beside the photograph. Three favourites sit below it as circles, and one click swaps image, name, price and description. No carousel that moves on by itself.

  2. 02

    Four steps you can taste

The cold extraction plays out as a sticky section. The glass stays put, the four steps pass it, and the glass fills as you scroll. The roast curve beside it comes from a real log, with first crack at seven minutes.

  3. 03

Eight houses without a map service

The city filter is built from the data, not from a second list. The map is drawn, not embedded from outside, so it needs no consent dialog. The open-now state is calculated from the hours and also says when it is quiet.

  4. 04

A stamp card you can touch

Ten fields to click, with the count and the sentence below changing along with them. Beside it sits a figure that is a zero: no movement profiles, nothing passed on, no app. A loyalty programme that advertises what it does not do.

  5. 05

Three long reads that arrive from search

Making cold brew at home, whisking matcha properly, the reusable cup numbers with the figure that does not add up. Every article ends at the matching product, and that is exactly where the route from search to basket runs.

Selling beans on subscription fails because nobody knows

The quantity calculator answers exactly that. A slider for cups per day, three preparation methods, and out come the amount per month, the right package and the subscription price next to the full price. It solves a problem in the trade, not a design problem.

  1. Works from your numbers

Grams per cup, kilo price and subscription discount sit in one place and are swapped in two minutes.

  2. Shows the saving with it

The subscription price sits next to the struck through full price. No percentage promise without a figure.

  3. Leads straight to the basket

The button sits under the result, not three sections later.

Who Holm is built for

A template gets good by making choices. Holm is tailored to one niche, and honest about where it does not fit.

Built for

  1. Coffee bars with two to twelve houses, where the same menu applies everywhere and the guest wants to know which house is open right now
  2. Roasteries with a shop that also ship beans and concentrate
  3. Businesses with a loyalty programme that is meant to work without an app
  4. Houses with their own bakery that want to show the pastry as a reason rather than a side line

Not meant for

  • A single café without mail order. Three of the nineteen pages then sit half empty and the site looks bigger than the business.
  • A roastery without a shop. The site leads people to the houses, and if you only ship you need a shop.
  • A chain with a postcode and map search. The city filter here is deliberately a list, because a map view means an outside service and therefore a consent dialog.
  • A restaurant. The menu is built for drinks plus a little pastry, not for courses that change in the evening.
  • For a single coffee house without mail order, Tellhoven fits better, and for a roastery focused on the bean, Darnholt.

Quick answers

It works without it, but then it loses its strongest piece. The calculator is the reason somebody takes out a subscription rather than buying a bag once. If you do not ship, take the page out and ask your AI to remove the links to it as well.

Yes, but it gets tighter. The city filter hides itself as soon as only one city is in the data. The number eight, however, appears as a word and as a figure in seven places in the text. The quality-assurance skill has the list.

No, and that is deliberate. Both pages come as placeholders and tell you what belongs in them. A copied legal text rarely describes what actually applies to you, and that is exactly where the warning letters come from.

Not without losing its character. The dark ground carries the outline type, the glow of the signal colour and the light of the photographs. What does work: setting whole sections to cream, there is a class for it, and the kicker colour follows automatically.

44 motifs from Unsplash, all local, nothing is loaded in. The uncropped originals come with the package so you can choose different crops. Three motifs show a recognisable face and have no model release, so you replace those before you go live.

No. Two fonts sit locally, all images sit locally, there is no map service, no CDN and no built-in analytics. That is also why the consent dialog is honestly empty: it prepares analytics and marketing but embeds nothing.

Yes, completely. Every reveal hangs off a class that a head script sets. With no script, everything is visible straight away. It is checked by a run of its own that loads every page twice and compares.

Second person throughout, on the legal pages and in form errors too. The form of address sits only in the data files and the page texts, never in a component, so you can change it in one pass.

Yes. Pay once, yours forever, for as many of your own and client projects as you like. What you may not do is sell it on as a template.

No. The build produces finished HTML in a folder. Any web space will do, no Node server needed.

All of it. HOLM, the eight houses, the addresses, the phone number, the prices, the guest quotes and every figure are sample content. The footer says so on every page, and the quality-assurance skill has the search list you use to prove nothing is left.

Yes, as its own version with a German website and a German knowledge layer. Not an English site with German instructions, but the whole way through, down to the price formats and the date.

The start skill walks you through everything needed in four rounds. With the details to hand you are through in an afternoon. The images and the legal texts take longer, but you can add those later.
