Working with components#

May I change components?

Yes. Every component sits in your project as source and is yours. Small changes go through className, anything more right in the file.

Make it yours
May I use the components in client projects?

Yes. The kit and the CLI are released under the MIT license. Use the components freely in your own projects and for clients, commercial ones included, the license notice stays with the code.

Licenses
Does an update overwrite my changes?

No. aiw update spots changed files through the lockfile and leaves them as they are. Only --force replaces them as well.

Versions and updates
Does the page work without JavaScript?

Yes. Components render fully on the server and every piece of content is readable. JavaScript adds motion and interaction.

Accessibility
How do I find the right variant?

The page of each category shows every variant with a live preview at three widths. In the terminal, aiw components <category> shows the same with the install line.

Yes. Without a class everything is light, class="dark" on the html element switches to dark. The kit starts dark, both modes are designed with the same care.
