7 Best Dog Breeder Website Templates 2026, Compared on Cost and Trust
A puppy buyer arrives with suspicion, not with a credit card. They have read about puppy mills and want proof before they call. We compared seven templates and builders on whether they can carry that proof, and on what each one costs over three years.
| Template | Price | Platform | Cost over 3 years | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Moorkamp (ours) | €99 once | Astro, your own code | €99 plus hosting | Small breeders with health results and a waiting list |
| Breedpost | $35 a month or $348 a year, plus $120 setup | Breedpost | $1,164 to $1,380 | Breeders who want pedigree software built in |
| Showit breeder templates | template plus Showit from $27 a month | Showit | from $978 plus the template | Photo-led sites with a designer look |
| Wix pet templates | from $17 a month | Wix | from $612 | A fast start without any code |
| Squarespace animal templates | from $19 a month billed yearly | Squarespace | from $684 | Breeders whose brand lives on photography |
| ThemeForest breeder themes | $59 to $69 once | WordPress | theme plus hosting and updates | Anyone already running WordPress |
| Elementor breeder kits | $24 to $29 once | WordPress with Elementor | kit plus Elementor and hosting | WordPress users who build with Elementor |
Anyone looking for a puppy today has read the stories about puppy mills. They come to a breeder website to rule you out, not to be convinced. In a few seconds they check whether the parent dogs are real, whether health results exist, and whether the waiting list is honest. A gallery of sweet puppies answers none of that.
The results in search today are template galleries and builder roundups. They show what a site looks like. None of them asks what it has to prove, and none adds up what it costs after three years. This list does both.
What we looked for
Four criteria, in this order:
- Can it carry proof? Parent dogs with their health results, litters with dates and status, and the reasons a pairing was called off. Proof is structure, not decoration.
- Is the waiting list honest? A good breeder site says how long the wait is and how the list moves. It sorts enquiries instead of collecting them.
- What does it cost over three years? A $17 subscription is $612 over three years. That belongs next to every one-time price.
- Who owns the result? Can you move when the provider raises prices? Your litters and your history should stay with you.
1. Moorkamp, for breeders with more enquiries than puppies
This is our own template, which is why it comes first. Judge for yourself.
Moorkamp is built for small breeders who place a few dogs a year and answer every enquiry personally. Twenty-five pages in cream, sage and caramel. Every parent dog has a profile with eleven health results, litters run on a calendar through 2027, and a puppy board shows each puppy by collar colour with a weight curve. The signature is an inheritance calculator with a Punnett square that shows, in plain words, why a pairing does not happen. A yearly cost calculator tells buyers what a dog really costs before they apply.
It comes as a project folder that you open in an AI tool such as Claude Code and rebuild onto your kennel by chat.
Strong: Shows proof instead of claims. A new litter or a new parent dog is one entry in a data file, not a new page. The code is yours, host it wherever you like, and you pay once.
Weak: There is no shop and no deposit button, enquiry and waiting list are the routes. The forms send nothing until you connect a form service. And you work briefly in the terminal, with two commands.
Best for: Breeders whose buyers decide on health and trust, and who would rather have fewer, better enquiries.
It sits in the Dogs category of the marketplace, next to three templates for dog schools. If you train dogs rather than breed them, the dog training template list is the better read.
2. Breedpost, when the pedigree belongs on the website
Breedpost is a website builder made only for breeders. Its core is pedigree software with building blocks for dogs, litters and announcements, hosted by Breedpost.
Strong: Pedigrees are built in, the vocabulary is the breeder’s own, and support knows the trade.
Weak: $35 a month or $348 a year, plus a $120 setup fee, and the domain is extra. That is $1,164 to $1,380 over three years, and the site stays on the platform.
Best for: Breeders with several lines who want pedigrees and website in one place.
3. Showit breeder templates from Etsy
Several Etsy sellers offer breeder templates for Showit, usually with ten to fourteen pages such as our dogs, puppies, litters, apply and terms. The design is often the most polished in this list.
Strong: Looks custom made, strong on photography, a drag and drop editor without code.
Weak: The template is only the entry ticket. Showit itself costs from $27 a month or $326 a year, $34 a month with a blog. Litters and parent dogs are layouts you copy by hand, not data.
Best for: Breeders with excellent photos who update the site a few times a year.
4. Wix pet templates
Wix has templates for pet businesses that adapt well to a breeder, with sections for dogs, puppies, gallery and contact, and payments as an add-on.
Strong: The simplest editor here and online on day one.
Weak: From $17 a month for as long as the site exists, and it cannot be taken with you. Each litter is a page you build yourself.
Best for: A first site that has to be online this week.
5. Squarespace animal templates
Squarespace templates look calm and photographic and work well on the phone, with forms and a blog that are easy to run.
Strong: Strong design out of the box and reliable hosting.
Weak: Little structure for litters, results and waiting lists, so every change is manual. From $19 a month billed yearly, and the site stays on Squarespace.
Best for: Breeders whose brand lives on photography and who write little.
6. ThemeForest dog breeder themes for WordPress
ThemeForest lists around forty results for dog breeders. Tailwag costs $59, Kenela $69, both WordPress themes with sections for dogs, puppies and adoption.
Strong: One-time price, a lot of choice, and every host knows WordPress.
Weak: You become the administrator. Themes and plugins want updates, and a theme is a starting point, not a finished site.
Best for: Breeders already on WordPress who do not mind the upkeep.
7. Elementor template kits for breeders
Kits such as Frenchbulls, HuskyPaws or Kintamani cost $24 to $29 and bring finished breeder pages for the Elementor page builder.
Strong: The cheapest entry in this list and quick to adapt visually.
Weak: You need WordPress, Elementor and often Elementor Pro on top, plus hosting. A kit is a set of layouts, your data still lives in each page.
Best for: WordPress users who already build with Elementor.
How the three routes differ
A builder is fastest on day one and the most expensive in year three. WordPress is cheap to start and makes you the administrator. A template with your own code costs once, belongs to you, and asks for the terminal in return.
For a breeder, what decides in the end is whether a stranger trusts you enough to call. Parent dogs, health results, litters and an honest waiting list do that work. Moorkamp is built for exactly that. If you would rather not adapt it yourself, we set it up for you.
Frequently asked questions
A home page with the current litter status, one page per parent dog with health results, a puppies page with dates and what is included, an honest description of the waiting list and how it moves, the price with what it covers, an application or enquiry form, directions, and your legal pages. A gallery helps, but it does not replace any of these.
A template you own costs €99 once plus roughly $30 to $80 a year for domain and hosting. A website builder costs $600 to $1,000 over three years, and Breedpost lands between $1,164 and $1,380 over the same time. Agency builds for breeders usually start around $1,500. The larger effort is almost always photos and copy.
Only if you want the pedigree database inside your website. Most small breeders keep pedigrees in their club or registry software and need the website for something else, namely trust. Litters, parent dogs and health results can be data files in any good template.
Website builders and WordPress offer payments as an add-on. Many breeders prefer a contract and a bank transfer after a conversation, because a deposit button invites impulse buyers. Moorkamp works with enquiry and waiting list on purpose and leaves payment to the conversation.
