Lovable Alternatives 2026, Seven Options Compared Fairly
Lovable is one of the fastest ways to turn a prompt into a working app, and for many projects it is the right tool. If you want a business website that ranks, a lower bill or code you fully control, these seven alternatives each solve one of those better.
| Tool | Price from | Code ownership | Hosting | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Lovable (for reference) | $25 a month | Download and GitHub sync on paid plans | Lovable Cloud, or export | Apps with login and a database |
| Bolt | $25 a month | Download and GitHub | Bolt hosting, or export | Quick full-stack prototypes |
| v0 | $30 a month | Next.js code, GitHub sync | Vercel | React and Next.js interfaces |
| Replit | $20 a month | Full project in your Repl | Replit deployments | Apps with real backend logic |
| Base44 | $16 a month, billed yearly | GitHub export from the Builder plan | Base44 | Internal tools and simple apps |
| AI website template with Claude Code, Cursor or Codex (our template) | €99 once | Yours forever, plain files | Any static host | Business websites that should rank |
| Framer | $10 a month per site, billed yearly | Stays in Framer | Framer | Visual marketing sites |
| Webflow | $15 a month per site, billed yearly | Limited export | Webflow | Marketing sites with a CMS and a designer |
The best Lovable alternative depends on what you are building. For apps, Bolt, v0, Replit and Base44 work the same way and differ in price and stack. For a business website that should rank, a finished website template edited with Claude Code, Cursor or Codex costs once and leaves you with plain code you own outright.
We build websites with AI tools every day and sell finished templates for that workflow, so we have a stake in this comparison. That is why every price below comes from the vendor’s own pricing page, checked on 31 October 2026, and why Lovable gets a fair hearing first.
What Lovable does well, and where it gets expensive
Lovable turns a description into a working React app with login, a database and hosting, faster than almost anything else. On the Pro plan you get custom domains, can remove the badge, sync the project to GitHub and download the code. Since 13 May 2026, new Lovable apps render on the server with TanStack Start, and older ones get prerendered pages for search engines and AI crawlers. It even ships a built-in SEO review. Many of the complaints you will read in older posts no longer hold.
Two things push people to look elsewhere. The first is the meter. Pro starts at $25 a month for 100 credits, and every change you ask for draws on that balance, so a busy month of revisions moves you up a tier. The second is fit. Lovable thinks in apps. A website for a law firm, a café or a coaching practice is twenty pages of copy, structure and search intent with almost no app logic. You pay for an engine you barely use.
How we compared
Five questions, in this order:
- Price over three years. A monthly plan is fine for a sprint and expensive for a website that lives for years.
- Code ownership. Can you take the code and run it without the vendor?
- Hosting lock-in. Does the site stop when you stop paying, and how hard is the move?
- How well the output ranks. Does a search engine or an AI crawler get finished HTML, and does the tool push you towards one page per topic?
- Business website or app. Is the tool built for screens with logic, or for pages that sell?
A quick test for ranking works on every tool. Open the published page, view the source and search for your headline. If it is in the HTML, crawlers can read it. If you only see an empty container and a script, they depend on rendering.
1. Bolt
Bolt by StackBlitz is the closest twin to Lovable. You prompt, it writes a full-stack project in the browser, and you can open every file directly.
Strong: Direct access to the code, download and GitHub export, hosting and custom domains included from the Pro plan at $25 a month with unused tokens rolling over.
Weak: Tokens run out quickly on large projects, and new projects usually start as a React app that renders in the browser unless you ask for a framework such as Astro or Next.js.
Best for: Developers and technical founders who want Lovable’s speed with more control over the files.
2. v0
v0 by Vercel generates React and Next.js interfaces and deploys them to Vercel in one click. The code uses common building blocks such as shadcn/ui and Tailwind, so any React developer can pick it up.
Strong: Clean, conventional Next.js code, GitHub sync and server rendering by default, which is good for search.
Weak: From $30 a month on the Plus plan, and the free tier is limited to a handful of messages a day. Hosting on Vercel is convenient, but Vercel’s free tier is meant for non-commercial projects, so a business site usually needs a paid plan there too.
Best for: Teams already on React and Vercel who want interfaces they can hand to a developer.
3. Replit
Replit is a full development environment in the browser with an AI agent on top. It builds the frontend and the backend, runs them and deploys them.
Strong: Real backend logic, databases and background jobs, and the whole project lives in your Repl, where you can download it.
Weak: Core costs $20 a month, or $18 on yearly billing, and deployments draw on usage as traffic grows. It is a lot of machine for a site that mostly shows pages.
Best for: Apps that need more server logic than Lovable comfortably handles.
4. Base44
Base44, now part of Wix, builds apps with database and login from a prompt and hosts them for you. It is the most guided tool in this list.
Strong: The lowest entry price among the app builders, from $16 a month on yearly billing, with backend, login and custom domains included.
Weak: Two-way GitHub sync only comes with the Builder plan at $40 a month on yearly billing, and the exported code still talks to Base44’s own backend. Built as an app first, so run the source test above before you count on it ranking.
Best for: Internal tools, client portals and simple apps for non-developers.
5. Cursor or Claude Code plus a template
This route turns the order around. Instead of asking an AI to invent a website from a prompt, you start from a finished one and let an AI coding tool such as Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, GitHub Copilot or Windsurf adapt it. That is what we sell as AI website templates. Each one is a finished industry website built with Astro, with a guideline file (CLAUDE.md), a knowledge folder with writing style, SEO plan and build plan, and seven Skills. You change it by chatting in plain language.
Strong: €99 once, yours forever. The output is static HTML, every page exists before anyone visits, so search engines and AI crawlers read it completely. The structure for search is already in place, one page per service with its own questions. It runs on any hosting, including free static hosts such as Cloudflare Pages or Netlify.
Weak: There is no drag and drop editor. You need an AI coding tool, which typically costs around $20 a month while you work on the site, and a hosting account. It builds websites, not apps, so login, a database or a booking engine are not part of it.
Best for: Businesses that need a website that ranks and brings enquiries, and people who would rather own files than rent a platform. What makes a site an AI website in this sense is explained in our pillar guide, and the Claude Code template comparison goes deeper into this route.
6. Framer
Framer is a visual site builder with an AI layout generator. It is not an app builder at all, which is exactly why it belongs here. Many people use Lovable for marketing sites that Framer handles better.
Strong: Polished design, smooth animation, fast hosting and server-rendered pages that search engines read well. From $10 a month per site on yearly billing.
Weak: The site stays in Framer, and there is no official way to export a working codebase. Pro at $30 a month per site is where most business sites end up, and every further site costs again.
Best for: Startups and studios who care most about how the site looks and moves.
7. Webflow
Webflow is the professional end of the visual builders, with a strong CMS and clean HTML output.
Strong: Very good technical SEO, a mature CMS for blogs and case studies, a large pool of designers who know it.
Weak: Basic starts at $15 a month per site on yearly billing but has no CMS. The plan with CMS is around $25 a month. Code export covers static pages only, so the CMS and forms do not come along. The learning curve tends to call for a designer.
Best for: Marketing teams with a Webflow designer and a content plan.
Business website or app, the decision rule
Ask one question first. Does the visitor log in?
If yes, you are building an app. Stay with Lovable or pick Bolt, v0, Replit or Base44 depending on your stack and budget. The differences between them are smaller than their marketing suggests, so test the same prompt on two free tiers.
If no, you are building a website, and the tool should be judged on pages, copy and search, not on app features. Start from a finished template with your AI coding tool if you want to own the code, or use Framer or Webflow if you prefer a visual editor and accept the monthly plan. Our comparison of AI website builders covers the builder side in more detail, and the SEO guide for AI websites explains what makes a page rank.
Plenty of startups need both. The app lives in Lovable at app.yourbrand.com, the marketing site with pricing, blog and docs lives on yourbrand.com, built where it ranks best. That split is common and costs less than forcing one tool to do both.
What it costs over three years
Monthly plans look small until you multiply them. Over 36 months, at the entry plan that covers a real project:
- Lovable Pro: $750 on yearly billing, $900 on monthly billing, more with larger credit tiers.
- Bolt Pro: about $900 on monthly billing.
- v0 Plus: about $1,080, plus hosting.
- Replit Core: $648 to $720, plus deployment usage.
- Base44: from $576 on Starter, about $1,440 on Builder with GitHub sync.
- Template with an AI coding tool: €99 once, plus the AI tool for the months you actively work on the site and hosting from free.
- Framer: $360 on Basic, $1,080 on Pro, per site.
- Webflow: $540 on Basic without CMS, around $900 with CMS, plus a template if you buy one.

Frequently asked questions
For an app, Bolt, v0, Replit and Base44 all have a free tier with a daily or monthly limit, enough to test an idea. For a business website, the cheapest long-term route is a finished template on a free static host, edited with an AI coding tool you may already pay for.
Yes. On the paid plans you can sync the project to GitHub, GitLab or Bitbucket and download the code. That makes Lovable fairer than many builders. The app then still expects the backend it was built on, so moving it off Lovable Cloud takes some work.
Better than they used to be. Lovable says apps created since 13 May 2026 render on the server with TanStack Start, and older apps get prerendered copies for search engines and AI crawlers. Rendering is only the floor, though. Ranking still depends on structure, one page per topic and real content.
They are close. Both cost from $25 a month, both build full-stack apps from a prompt and both let you take the code. Lovable is more guided and stronger on design out of the box, Bolt gives you more direct access to the files. Try the same prompt in both on the free tier.
Usually not. A company website is mostly pages, copy and structure, not app logic. A finished website template that you adapt by chat with an AI coding tool costs once and gives you plain files that run on any hosting.
The Pro plan with 100 credits a month costs $250 a year on yearly billing, so $750 over three years, or $900 on monthly billing. Larger credit tiers and extra credits come on top if you build a lot.
